Inspiring History
With the formation of the American Farm Bureau in 1919, farmers wanted to create an organization to “make the business of farming more profitable, and the community a better place to live,” a statement approved by their members in 1920.
The development of that national network allowed greater purchasing power for seed, equipment, and other farm necessities. In addition to that, it gave farm families social and educational opportunities that enriched their everyday lives.
The strength of that national front led to the recognition that rural communities could benefit by starting their own insurance companies as a way to protect their farms, homes, and families.
In the late 1940’s Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance would proudly begin serving these families with insurance products to protect their farms and their families.
